We need to add a feature to the website which I highly recommend.  It costs $29 per month but its important that its done.  I started to do some of the updates already but the entire websites needs to be reviewed and updated.

Below is an email I am sending to all my clients letting them know about this recommended upgrade.

I wanted to let you know about an upgrade that I recommend is needed for the website.  The website is currently not ADA Compliant (American Disabilities Act) and its important to address this issue.  The American Disabilities Act (ADA) requires all websites to be accessible to people with disabilities, including visual impairment, hearing impairment, cognitive or neurological disabilities, and others.

If you go to go https://www.samtaylormd.com you will see a handicap icon in the bottom right to access the accessibility plugin.  Click on the icon to see how it works.   All of those features you see in that plugin have to be hard coded into the website. In order for the website to be ADA compliant it needs to be accessible without any kind of pop up plugins like the one on Dr. Taylors website.   The plugin can be used as an additional beneficial tool but its not considered a substitute or replacement of hard coding the website.

One of the main reasons I’m recommending this upgrade is because of an increase in lawsuits targeting medical websites that are not ADA compliant.  Not only is this update recommended to reduce the risk of lawsuits but making the website accessible to patients that require such a functionality to simply browse your website is a good business decision.

I’ve had two dental and one dermatology clients contact me asking about ADA compliance because they had colleagues that were recently sued.  These are small independent medical offices.  Lawyers are using scanning tools to identify non-compliant websites and we need to code the website so it passes these scans.  Although I can’t guarantee you won’t be sued because anyone can sue anyone for anything, the goal is to add as much of the ADA requirements within the structure of your design so the site passes these scans.

There are several companies that provide an automated option using AI technology and I have tried the one provided by www.accessible.com. After adding their product to the website it still needed additional manual updates that required me working with one of their reps.  Their cost is $49 per month.

I am offering this service for $29 per month which includes hard coding the entire website and also coding all future content.  The website will include the Accessibility Plugin just like the one on Dr. Taylors website which requires me to purchase a user license.

If you have any questions about this or if you would like to add this upgrade, let me know.
